2. Wagoneer Gardens

A hands-on program where Wagoneers grow fresh produce, strengthen teamwork, and see their work nourish the community.

The Wagoneer Gardens give participants the chance to learn responsibility, teamwork, and the science of food production. Using aeroponic garden technology, Wagoneers grow fresh produce in a sustainable and innovative way, without soil and with minimal water use. This advanced system not only teaches agricultural skills but also introduces Wagoneers to cutting-edge green technology.

Wagoneers take on meaningful roles—planting seeds, monitoring growth, trimming and maintaining plants, harvesting and packaging produce. These roles foster discipline, consistency, and problem-solving skills, while giving participants the tangible reward of seeing their hard work turn into healthy food. The produce goes directly into Waigand Wheels’ Community Cart and to local food pantries, ensuring their efforts directly fight food insecurity.

For Wagoneers, the gardens provide more than training—they offer a sense of pride and purpose, knowing their work feeds neighbors and strengthens community health. For the broader community, the gardens are a powerful example of how inclusion, sustainability, and service can grow side by side.
